In 2012, the 7arakat Project aims to deliver two exciting initiatives including:

The 7arkat Conference: Theatre, Cultural Diversity and Inclusion:
The Conference will bring together theatre-makers, scholars, creative producers and community development workers to examine various issues of exclusion within the sector of performing arts and the theatre’s role in providing networks of participation and social inclusion, and as practice that facilitates cultural citizenship and belonging.

Conference Dates: Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd of November 2012.
Conference Location:La Trobe University Franklin Street campus, 215 Franklin St, Melbourne.

The 7arakat Creative Development Lab:
This Creative Lab involves the development of a new work of Documentary Theatre involving Palestinian and Australian theatre-makers. The new work will be devised by participants in a two-week Creative Development Lab to be held in Sydney in November 2012. Working collaboratively enlisting a group-devised process, and using a range of documents, testimonies and accounts, the project seeks to develop innovative approaches to staging involving the convergence of digital technologies and the physical bodies of performers.

Creative Lab Dates: 5 - 16 November 2012
